Anyone ever spend a great amount of time working on something you love, only to have things end in disappointment?
I initially set out to write a post about a perpetually losing volleyball season. One I personally experienced a few years back. However after 2 HOURS constructing an absolutely BRILLIANT blog post about losing seasons...it's deleted. Poof, forever gone from this world. So I went back to the drawing board. My second draft was even better! And when I went to publish on the website, what do you know? Poof! Immediately I wanted to quit. I thought I did everything right. I spend so much time working on my post and things didn't turn out the way I expected them to. Well, I went back to work on the third version of this blog post. This time I'll get it right. Even though I feel is not as good as the second draft. maybe it's as good as the first. Even though I am disappointed that I lost something I was proud of, I feel great knowing that I haven't given up on myself. I will walk away from this post being satisfied, not in the result but in the effort I gave. Don't give up, no matter how tough things get. Even if you have lost every set of every match this season. If you really want to achieve something, you have to get back up. Every time you fail you are one step closer to success. And when you accidentally delete two blog posts in a row, copy and save!

We are getting more and more excited about the parade this Saturday. We have a lot of work to do to live up to our theme: Sheroes the Boat. We are combining super hero characters with row boats.
We will be getting together between 6:30 - 9pm on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at Prairie Ridge Elementary to design and build our costumes and props. We want all hands on deck! On Saturday, June 3, 2017, Moxie Volleyball takes to the streets when we join the Do-Dah Parade, wielding paddles and rockin' original superhero garb. Sounds silly, right? The Do-Dah Parade is meant to be silly! Moxie's theme this year is 'Sheroes the Boat' - a play on words combining she rows, Sheroes, and 'Row the boat'.
Row the Boat, a phrase recognized in the Kalamazoo area meaning a team working in unison. Moxie believes that when team of young people truly work in unison, amazing things happen. If you have ever been a member of a team truly working in unison, you know it's a Super Powerful feeling! There is a lot to plan before the big day. Moxie volleyball is looking for creative individuals to help us put our ideas into action. If you are interested in rowing the boat, literally or figuratively, contact us! Click here to see at the official invitation and RSVP. Moxie Families are invited to join us in celebration of another successful travel season!
On Friday, June 9th from 5-8pm at Sherman Lake YMCA, we will enjoy swimming in the Fitness Center's indoor pool, climbing on the giant Rock-Wall (5-6pm only), outdoor games and roasting s'mores. We will provide delicious sub sandwiches but you are more than welcome to bring drinks or a sides to share.
